6 things that decreases a Womans Lib!do

It is usually assumed that a woman's libido automatically decreases over time, through no fault of anyone, but this is not necessarily true. There are a few situations that will cause a woman to lose her libido.

Considering these things could help you maintain a healthy s ex drive and a fantastic s ex life.

1. Se xual discomfort: It is obvious that anyone will be disinterested in something that is not comfortable for them. If sex hurts you or you experience discomfort, it will surely make you lose interest, which will gradually kill your se x drive.

What to do: If you begin to feel se xual discomfort, speak to your partner and see if he can find ways to make things better. If this does not work, speak to a medical practitioner. Finding a solution as early as possible will save you future angst. 

2. Diseases: Some non-sexual diseases such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease and neurological diseases could negatively affect your sex drive.

What to do: Keeping this in mind will make you feel less frustrated with your declining libido. Medications could help.

3. Fatigue: Most Nigerians believe that once a woman has babies, she loses interest in sex. This is not simply a biological response. The reason her sex drive might decrease could be due to the exhaustion of waking up multiple times a night, stress of caring for a new baby, etc. When you are spending hours caring for a baby, it could be hard to feel sexy.

What to do: Ask for help. You can divide baby duties between yourself and your partner so you are not too overwhelmed. You can also try taking a few minutes walk without the baby, to feel energized, and you can try and dress up, even when you don't feel like it. Sometimes, looking good will make you feel good, which could make you feel sexy.

4. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Hormone changes during pregnancy, just after having a baby and during breast-feeding can put a damper on sexual desire. Some women are also affected by the way their body looks and this will make them self conscious.

What to do: If it is hormones, then all you need is to be patient and have a patient partner. If you do not feel attractive, discuss this with your partner so he will do more to improve your sex esteem and show you more love.

5. Relationship issues: Things like unresolved conflicts with your partner, poor communication and betrayal after infidelity can kill your sex drive.

What to do: This is something that will only be solved through more communication. If you have resentment, talk about it. If he has been unfaithful, discuss how you can get over it and if you can't your only option is to 

6. Psychological issues: Stress, poor body image, low self esteem and history of sexual abuse may cause a woman to feel less inclined to have or enjoy sex.

What to do: Since this is a personal issue, you should consider counselling to get over them. Speak with a counsellor or clergy, as often as you need, to let go of your issue
